Top speed is 25 mph. Vehicle has a governor and will not allow the car to go more than 25 even down steep hills.
Vehicle is good for city streets with 35 mph speed limits - No Driving on Bridges or Freeways.
Cars can handle the San Francisco hills with no problems, going at the speeds of 16 to 18 mph.
All California motor vehicle laws apply to ETR Electric Cars, i.e. parking is just like a regular car - no parking on the sidewalks.
Cars do well in traffic because they reach top speed very quickly due to low torque engines (faster than some gasoline powered cars.)
Cars are brightly colored and attract attention on the streets. This ensures that vehicles are seen and can maneuver safely in traffic even when other vehicles travel at higher speeds.
Vehicle is classified as a NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle.)
NEV classification requires vehicle to be capable of 25 mph and to have safety features such as; seatbelts for all passengers, safety glass, windshield wiper, full lighting (including brake and signal lights,) rear view mirrors, and horn. NEVs are sometimes referred to as LSV (Low Speed Vehicles.)
Cars can be charged from any 110 volt outlet and charging takes about 6 to 9 hours.
